Why BAP: "I originally joined AA/BAP as a pure coincidence. A friend sent me a link to AALDP when I was completely lost in my career. Up to that point, even when I joined, I didn't really have the intention of doing accounting. But AA/BAP has given me so much more than just professional experience. It has opened so many doors, both in accounting and elsewhere, and has truly been a positive pivot in my college story.”

Best advice you have ever received: “Your greatest blessing might be your harshest rejection.”

Fun Fact: I was 2/200 points off making nationals for a(n) acting/creativity competition in middle school.

Why BAP: "I originally joined Accounting Association because I wanted to be more involved with the business community. Since then, the people in Accounting Association have been the most supportive group of people I have met. They are highly motivated, driven, and care about each other. I wanted to continue being on board to give back to the community and help others build connections to professionals in the various accounting firms.”

Best advice that you have ever received: “Never give up. There will be a lot of failures in life, but it is how one recovers from them that shows people who you really are. If one door doesn't open, try another door to reach your goal.”

Hobbies: Badminton, running, volunteering, YouTube

Why BAP: “Going into my second year of college, I knew absolutely nothing about recruiting, networking, and the importance of professionalism. Instead of leaving me to figure everything out on my own, the BAP and AA community really took me under their wings to help me figure everything out. I grew so much from their support, and I hope to give back and provide the same invaluable guidance I was so grateful to receive.”

Best advice that you have ever received: “The best advice I have ever received is to constantly challenge yourself to the best the person you can be. There are so many opportunities to grow both personally and professionally, whether that be joining a new campus organization, trying something outside of your comfort zone, or simply asking questions. Being scared and nervous is part of the process, but truly putting in the effort to overcome those barriers is what makes that process so special.”

Fun Fact: I like watching Korean dramas.

Why BAP: "I decided to join BAP because of how much of an impact the accounting community has done for me. I started off as a freshman who knew that I wanted to do accounting but had no idea how to get to where I wanted to be. I found a mentor in the accounting community that taught me everything that I needed to know about recruiting and the accounting discipline. Much like my mentor, I want to help guide others on their path to becoming an accountant.”

Best advice that you have ever received: “All of the water in the world, no matter how hard it tries, can not sink a ship… unless it gets inside.”

Fun Fact: My older brother and I share the same birthday

Everyone was kind, passionate, and extremely driven and I knew that I wanted to be a part of a community that would constantly challenge me to grow. The AA/BAP community has developed me both professionally and personally and I want to support others the way my peers and mentors have supported me.”

Best advice that you have ever received: “Failures do not define who you are. It is how you handle these failures that shape who you become. Think of it like this: each failure brings you one step closer to success.”

Fun Fact: I used to play the violin and cello.

Major: Business Administration | Emphasis: Accounting

Graduation Date: June 2021

Other Involvements: Accounting Association Leadership Development Program (Mentor/ Mentee), Ding Tea, Matcha Café Maiko

Hobbies: Movies, hiking, basketball, dogs, food

Why BAP: “I joined BAP and AA so that I could be in a position to give back to the accounting community. At the beginning of my second year, I did not plan on joining AA or BAP at all; however, my friend pushed to sign up to be a mentee in AA’s Leadership Development Program. Through that program, I met tons of individuals who were passionate about accounting, and I also gained a mentor who guided me and essentially answered any questions I had relating not only to accounting but in any situation that I may find myself in. I want to emulate what he did to help others find their passion and guide them towards success!”

Best advice that you have ever received: “The best advice I have received is not be afraid to reach out to others! In the beginning, I was pretty shy and didn’t really want to bother anyone with simple questions or other things such as looking over my resume. Everyone here at UCI is open to helping each other and want you to succeed. They took the time out of their own busy schedule in order to help me out and I could really see the effort that they were putting into me! Definitely reach out to everyone you can, not just other students; there are faculty and even professionals who can help you grow as a person and as a professional!”

Fun Fact: The only dogs I have ever had in my life are Weiner dogs (currently own 3).

I am extremely appreciative for BAP because I know that I have grown in confidence as well as overall accounting knowledge.”

Best advice that you have ever received: “Take life seriously, but don't take it too seriously. Remember health is always the most important thing in life, and that family and friends will always be there for you. Getting a job and performing well in it is important, but you are not defined by the amount of money you make or your net worth.”

Best advice that you have ever received: “It’s okay to fail, but make sure you don’t let it define you.”

Fun Fact: I love poke. I would probably eat it every day if I could.
